Hip Dysplasia :-(

We got some bad news several weeks back. I had noticed some popping in Luna's hip, so I took her to the vet. As suspected, she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. The good new is, I took her an orthopedic surgery and he said that she is an excellent candidate for corrective TPO surgery. We don't have the surgery planned yet, but I will keep you posted on her progress.

Rodeo Day

Back in March, we took Luna to the Austin Rodeo on "First Responders Day". Everyone loved meeting our little girl and we had lots of conversations with people about what we do.

A Beautiful Day at the Park

Luna spent some time at Walnut Creek Park today with my son and his new Flip video camera. In the video are Zara, her bestest gal pal German Shepard and my grand-dog, Tippy. Dogs, water and leash-free=Luna's Disneyland.

Snow Day!

We had a snow day here in Austin yesterday.
This is the first time I've seen snow stick here in YEARS!!

Luna enjoyed running around in the snow and eating it off the deck.

Doggie Day Camp!

I've been taking Luna to Doggie Day Camp at Taurus Dog Training on Metric for a couple of months now. SHE LOVES IT!! She get's to play with other doggies her size and they take great care of her. The first time I took her they sent home this report card...too funny!

Yesterday I had to go to Waco, so I took her to Day Camp for the day. First off, she didn't want to get into the car and then she pouted and whined the whole way there. I guess she thought this was yet another a trip to the vet or the groomers. When she got out of the car and realized where we were she got super excited. She could hardly contain herself at the front desk with her wagging..."Let's go!! I want to go down with the other doggies!!"

I also like taking her there because she's totally pooped when she gets home.

November Update

Well, it's been a while since I've posted. Luna was 50.8 lbs at last weeks visit and she'll turn 5 months on the 15th. In the following photos is how she spends a lot of the weekday: laying on the floor by my desk. Such a goofball!
Here she is at one of the visits to the vet. Tippy went with us that time. She wants Tippy to play with her so badly. Tippy is so beyond that.

How can anyone resist this face??

This next photo is of "puppy play time" that we have before puppy class to get out all (or at least some) their energy. Nico is in the picture. Luna is one of his many lady admirers.

And finally, this is from last week's graduation. Luna passed with flying colors! We'll start intermediate after the holidays so we don't have to worry about all the weeks of and weird schedules. Our trainer gave us some advice on things to work on until then.
